Free Running Submarine Manouvering Test Device; is a hydrodynamics test system for submarines and underwater vehicles. System helps gathering technical details of the vehicles maneuvering characteristics such as turning circle, zig-zag, etc. by using scaled models of submarines. Model of the vessel, including propellers and drive train can be manufactured and control units of Free Running Device can be assembled into model. A high precise INS-DVL system allows to get accurate position and heading data. RPM and rudder positions gathered by servo motor encoders. These technical details are crucial for validating the manouvering performance of designs and to control of submarines, autonomous underwater vehicles. These data is input for mathematical functions of weapon control, dynamic positioning and autopilot systems of submarines and also used for simulator systems in order to train personnel.
